The Research Projects Co-ordinator will oversee externally funded research projects within the Ethox Centre and the Wellcome Centre for Ethics and Humanities. This is a challenging but very interesting role to support the development and delivery of a growing portfolio of research projects and will require coordination across University Departments and with external UK and overseas partners. You will work with a variety of key stakeholders including academic collaborators, external funding partners and other university staff. Some collaborations are international, and you will need to develop strong relationships with project partners in the UK, Africa and Asia.
The focus of the role is on delivering the operational activities linked to two existing research projects in the field of global health, as well as helping to develop and sustain future research programmes. The role requires wide-ranging project co-ordination for the projects mentioned above, as well as other new projects as and when funding is secured.
You will work under the direction of the Wellcome Senior Investigator but will be required to work independently, and will need to relate well to staff at all levels. You will be expected to advise senior academics and officers on a wide variety of matters relating to the different functions of the role. You will need to work with multiple departments within the University; develop strong relationships with external funding partners; understand financial flows within a University setting; navigate governance issues and understand appropriate research funding arrangements. You will also need to work well with colleagues in administration, IT, HR and finance on different aspects of this role.
Informal enquiries should be addressed to Mary Foulkes (email@example.com).
The position is full-time (although part-time considered) and fixed-term for 3 years.
The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 8 June 2020.
